It was lovely to receive this email
I have to tell you how much I so thoroughly enjoyed our Singing Allowed course last week. As always I found it to be a really enjoyable and relaxing day. The choice of music so varied. I wake up in the morning with one or other of the songs in my mind. The venue was very pleasant also. I thank you both for the hard work and dedication. It is quite clear that you work well together and enjoy the events also. Roll on the next time.
We enjoyed it very much too, Dance to your Daddy has become my latest 'earworm'! I hope the rest of the participants are getting free from troublesome returning songs. Frances

Sing the Stave
The giant keyboard came into its own, though 'playing' it upsidedown and in reverse was not a skill I had mastered! ....Must practise for next time....
Half of the course members were new to Arbutus so that was particularly pleasing, not that we don't love all our faithful returners, of course we do!
Comments included "As a musician I was amazed at the way the important aspects of singing were delivered. There was no overwhelming jargon or anyone looking embarassed."
"I feel more confident about rhythms in music and I was pleased that I knew more than I thought"
"I was pleased to do more singing than I expected"
Many thanks to you all for coming along, we are now looking forward to the next two courses, Hiawatha and Singing Allowed. Don't forget to enrol to secure your place soon. www.arbutusmusic.net

Arbutus Music ventures into online enrolment
We are hoping to move onto online enrolment this week. It will be possible to enrol and pay for courses online using a credit or debit card or your Paypal account. This will save you having to print out the enrolment form, write out a cheque, write an envelope and then find a stamp!
Welcome to the Arbutus Music Blog!
Frances and Christine are working on two new workshops and preparing a new version of their very first Arbutus course 'Singing Allowed'
The two new workshops are Sing the Stave, lots of singing with help on how to convert the notes on the page into wonderful confident singing!
The second is a Singing Day when the subject matter will be Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Hiawatha's Wedding Feast. Whether like Frances you remember it from your youth or like Christine you have never sung it before, you are sure to have a lot of fun. This work has seriously gone out of fashion so this may be your only opportunity to get to know it.
